With over fifteen years of experience in the field of educational research and evaluation, we have conducted many projects for local, state, and federal agencies, as well as for non-profit and for-profit corporations. We have the experience and the ability to conduct large scale, multi-site, longitudinal studies. Examples of recent projects conducted by the staff of PRES Associates include: 

• The South Dakota Advanced Reading Enhancement Program, a 3-year professional development project to provide all 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade teachers in South Dakota with intensive, year-long training in literacy instruction. 

• The University of California Riverside's Parents and Youth Study, a large-scale 5-year federally funded research project involving English speaking and Spanish speaking families.

• Several large-scale randomized control trials evaluating the effectiveness of reading and math curriculum materials. These studies have been conducted for private organizations and publishers (client names withheld for confidentiality) and are designed to fully meet quality criteria required by the No Child Left Behind Act (as established in the Study DIAD (v. 1.0) published by the What Works Clearinghouse).

• Evaluation of South Dakota READS, a statewide language arts initiative designed to improve student’s literacy skills.

• Evaluation of a Title II professional development program in the State of Missouri.

• An Educational and Vocational Needs Assessment for the Whitney Foundation consisting of a comprehensive needs assessment on the educational and vocational needs of students in a Wyoming County. 

• Design and analysis of multiple statewide professional development needs assessment surveys. 

• Design and management of the Wyoming Career and Technical Assessment (WyCTA), the state’s evaluation tool for its Carl D. Perkins Act-funded vocational programs. Responsibilities include identification of data collection needs, conceptualization of data collection systems, and overall supervision and management of the WyCTA data collection and reporting system.
